A collaborative art project which facilitates intergenerational connections and community engagement by offering a platform for fostering meaningful interactions and mutual learning between young participants and senior citizens to promote a sense of belonging and inclusivity among all participants.
what to expect
12:30 PM
BRAINSTORM + BAKE
Our rangatahi (12 - 24 year olds) arrive and bake scones for our kuia kaumatua shared afternoon tea while brainstorming what they'd like to see in their community.
2:00 PM
MEET + GREET
Our kuia kaumatua (65 years old+) arrive to enjoy an afternoon tea with our young people and connect over special korero starter cards.
2:30 PM
ART COLLABORATION
Paint skateboard decks together with the help of a guest artist. Youth team up with seniors to create unique, rideable pieces of art.
Event finishes 4pm.
FREE REGISTRATION
Due to limited spaces, we kindly ask interested community members to fill out an expression of interest form. There are separate forms for seniors and youth to ensure we can accommodate everyone comfortably.
